Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family children who would grow up in the same household, figured out very young how to overcome of her difficulties by using her rich and imaginative imagination. Songs were written by her before she knew how to write and read. In 8 years, she got her first guitar. At age 11 she started singing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. The same year she released her debut recording for Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. While she was popular in the local scene while she was at High School, she knew her goals were bigger. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums from Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for female singers to join his television show that was syndicated approximately the exact time. Parton began her career in 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, she joined the Grand Ole Opry. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974 when her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Be Loved by You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the number. 1 spot after they separated. This was the first time a single hit the top spot.
